Thinklaser - laser cut front line support

The response from British manufacturing companies to the COVID-19 pandemic has been nothing short of sensational. People have banded together in a way that has not likely been seen since WW2, with engineering leaders across sectors developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of the health services as the pandemic has developed.

Thinklaser users have also been busy manufacturing face masks for local NHS trusts across the UK on their Lightblade laser cutting systems.  I’d like to champion a few of them here and say a big thank you to all laser users who have been working hard during the pandemic to produce vital PPE for the NHS.

Between King Edwards School in Totnes, High Bird Shooting, Cats Whisker and the University of Chester’s Technical Team in the Energy Centre at Thornton, well over 1,500 face masks have been cut and sent out to frontline NHS staff in recent weeks across the UK.

The demand for face masks has been so great that some customers have had new machines installed to meet the requirement; King Edwards School have recently installed a second Lightblade 1610 130W and P&G have taken delivery of a second 6090 80W system to assist in the manufacture of PPE.
