BOFA brings Industry 4.0 to fume extraction

Members of BOFA’s research and development division, along with in-house laser health and safety experts, will share a platform with their award-winning technologies that are set to bring the concept of ‘Industry 4.0’ - the fourth industrial revolution - to life.

“The laser industry already benefits from high levels of automation, but digitalisation and data integration, as envisioned by Industry 4.0, brings new opportunities to optimise productivity through remote collaboration,” says Haydn Knight, Sales and Marketing Director at BOFA.

“We’re embracing this new way of working through innovations linked to our Intelligent (iQ) Operating platform, which is revolutionary in its own right, having transformed extraction system control and communication through remote diagnostics. Our latest developments in this area brings Cloud-enabled functionality for the first time ever in the next generation of fume extraction: iQ2 – supporting our customers’ wishes for more effective real-time monitoring and better reporting tools. We know the market wants closer filter performance management and our enhanced filter management system with SMART filter technology allows the user to predict important system requirements including filter life and change, system maintenance and early diagnostics - further widening the technology gap with our competitors.”

BOFA will showcase a range of products from its specialist ADVANTAGE range of fume extraction systems developed specifically for the laser industry, as well as a selection of inline filters, patented filter technology, laser cooling units, fire suppression and control units and its new SMART filter technology.

BOFA’s industry leading experts will also be on hand at LASYS to offer visitors advice and information on technology, filtration and health and safety issues linked to potentially harmful airborne contaminants generated from any laser processes.
