With the advent of new software, more efficient lasers, faster cutting speeds and a greater reliance on doing business online, the role of the Job Shop owner is evolving and there are new challenges to be faced. Should Job Shops specialise in doing one process as efficiently as possible? Or seek to provide as complete a solution as possible by adding other processes? What about Industry 4.0? What might that mean for the management of a lean manufacturing service business in the UK, as batch sizes reduce and personalisation increases?
The unique forum that is the Job Shop Group within AILU is a way to make new connections, share ideas (contributing to real cost savings) and find out what’s new in the marketplace.
The theme this year is The Future of the Job Shop and there will be an opportunity at the end of the day to tour the facilities at MTC Coventry.
