  • Sector: Photonics
  • Location: National Physical Laboratory, Teddington
  • Attendees: All Welcome

A practical course on measurement techniques and standards

The course is intended to provide practical instruction and advice on techniques for the measurement of sources of optical radiation from the ultraviolet to the near infrared. A major feature will be the practical hands-on sessions, in which participants will be given the opportunity to use equipment for themselves, explore various measurement techniques and investigate possible sources of systematic error. There will be opportunities for extended visits to the state-of-the-art NPL laboratories, including those for measuring LEDs and displays.

The cost of the course has now been reduced to £1800 including VAT and is endorsed by the Institute of Physics (IoP). If you are a member of the IoP, you are entitled to a 10% discount on the full price.

Further information, including registration details, can be found on the website at www.npl.co.uk/photometrycourse

Following on from the course, the Optical Technologies and Measurement Network (formerly ORM Club) will be running a seminar on Lighting which you may also be interested in. Further information about the OTM Network and its activities can be found at www.npl.co.uk/otmn
