i am looking for some info on this to see if it is able to be done on the laser  can anyone help on this topic i would be grateful for any info

Can be done no problem as long as the material is perfectly flat. Just switch of the height regulation. Beware if the material is bowed it will colide.

Depending on the guage of the mesh. I would not expect a problem on 2mm or above.  on 1mm or below clamping the mesh may be of benefit. be aware of "warping" on fine mesh, or you may end up with a lot of scrap.
